Where’s my head at?!

19 Sep

Do you ever have weeks when you literally don’t know what is happening?
It’s been a hectic week and it’s only Wednesday! So far I’ve done things I’ve enjoyed, been involved in things I haven’t enjoyed, and stopped from doing things I would enjoy.
My brain can’t even communicate what to write. So here are some pictures to explain what’s been happening over the past 5 days, including a couple of songs which have been at the top of my recently played list.

They know how to get me excited…

14 Sep

I absolutely love Burberry Prorsum and love this teaser video, which, incidentally, has one of my all time favourite songs as the backing track.

Christopher Bailey, I adore you.

Bit in love with Ralph Lauren

14 Sep

A surprise favourite, just as New York Fashion Week came to a close, Ralph Lauren gave us a glimpse of his South American inspired outfits which I’m sure will be filtering down into the high street in Spring/Summer 13. It all comes as nice change after the fiasco of the US Olympian outfits…
Lauren’s use of colours, cuts and fabrics is amazing in this show. Leathers, suede and silk. As well indication to us that hats are going to be a big thing. The final image has to be my favourite. I’m normally a huge fan of colour, but this beautifully cut, chic black dress, with black boater hat and T-bar heels…well. I’m actually in love.

Quite a manic Monday…

Inspired by Victoria Beckham’s use of orange at her SS 13 fashion show, I wore a burnt orange dress from Miss Selfridges, long cardigan H&M and classic pumps front New Look. Make up and hair pretty simple as didn’t want to go overload on a Monday with bold colour and bold makeup 🙂

If you haven’t heard…

10 Sep

Victoria Beckham’s SS 13 fashion show in New York yesterday has been received with rave reviews.

And I can see why.
Clean cute lines, feminine skirts but quite ‘power dressing’ tops, bold colours – I have to say, I love it. VB’s going for bright oranges and black and white and I love this bolder approach to Spring/Summer style, making a change from pastel colours.
Here’s a pick of my favourites from yesterdays catwalk show

Love the strip of colour on white.

Too many beautiful things

Is there a more exciting month than when the fashion weeks are on? Answer – no!

Right now we’re in New York (OK the fashionistas are in New York, I’m in Brighton on my lunch dreaming that I was in New York), and then to London, to Milan and finally ending in Paris, naturally.

I often find it strange that as I start prepping my Autumn/Winter wardrobe, and making lists of what winter coats to buy, do I need new boots, where can I find some thick woolly tights, that all over the world people are watching models strut down the catwalk in next Spring/Summer cuts and hues.

But hey, I love trawling through the photos and getting excited about what I’ll be wearing when the new season hits.

Vogue, just in time, updated their website last week. It’s clean, fresh, easy to navigate and has a brilliant zoom button so you can really see the amazing detail that designers put into their creations.

If you want to see a recap of each show throughout the next month, (I know I do) use this great link.

Easy to click through each show, and you can set an alert for your favourite designers, so the moment the pictures are in, you can see them!
My favourite so far – Orla Kiely – lovely dresses, very strong 1950’s feel – clean cut, strong colours, great handbags!

Shows I can’t wait to see? Diane Von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, House of Holland, Temperley London, Burberry Prosum, Chanel, Valentino and Alexander McQueen.

Role on Spring-Summer 2013 I say!

Fallen into Friday!

7 Sep

Well hoorah for that! I had a couple of days off but I’m still glad it’s Friday already!

Friends leaving drinks tonight, so tried to make it a good Friday outfit

Bunny dress! Firstly love the print and the colour – nice dusky blue on a light coffee colour. The cut is perfect for me too! Teamed with denim jacket and flip flops

Tousled hair again to keep it casual. Bit of eyeliner, and then red red lipstick! I love red lipstick! Especially this matte red from Revlon.

Happy Friday!
