Beauty pick of the month

13 Sep

For me, has to be Maybelline Eye Shadow Gel Liner in black. I stumbled across this by mistake whilst flicking through a magazine at the hairdressers, but as soon as my blow dry was done I headed straight for Boots to pick this up.

I am definitely no expert with liquid eye liner. Normally one eye goes drastically wrong and I have to take the whole thing off. However, with this gel liner, which incidentally comes in a neat little pot and brilliant applicator brush, if I do make a mistake it’s easily correctable.

Mac do a similar version, but does not come with the applicator brush, and Maybelline is a steal at £7.99.

I’ve been having great fun trying out different styles and flicks.

Highly recommended – a must have for any makeup bag!

Quite a manic Monday…

10 Sep

Inspired by Victoria Beckham’s use of orange at her SS 13 fashion show, I wore a burnt orange dress from Miss Selfridges, long cardigan H&M and classic pumps front New Look. Make up and hair pretty simple as didn’t want to go overload on a Monday with bold colour and bold makeup 🙂

Too many beautiful things

7 Sep

Is there a more exciting month than when the fashion weeks are on? Answer – no!

Right now we’re in New York (OK the fashionistas are in New York, I’m in Brighton on my lunch dreaming that I was in New York), and then to London, to Milan and finally ending in Paris, naturally.

I often find it strange that as I start prepping my Autumn/Winter wardrobe, and making lists of what winter coats to buy, do I need new boots, where can I find some thick woolly tights, that all over the world people are watching models strut down the catwalk in next Spring/Summer cuts and hues.

But hey, I love trawling through the photos and getting excited about what I’ll be wearing when the new season hits.

Vogue, just in time, updated their website last week. It’s clean, fresh, easy to navigate and has a brilliant zoom button so you can really see the amazing detail that designers put into their creations.

If you want to see a recap of each show throughout the next month, (I know I do) use this great link.

http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/spring-summer-2013

Easy to click through each show, and you can set an alert for your favourite designers, so the moment the pictures are in, you can see them!
My favourite so far – Orla Kiely – lovely dresses, very strong 1950’s feel – clean cut, strong colours, great handbags!

Shows I can’t wait to see? Diane Von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, House of Holland, Temperley London, Burberry Prosum, Chanel, Valentino and Alexander McQueen.

Role on Spring-Summer 2013 I say!

Fallen into Friday!

7 Sep

Well hoorah for that! I had a couple of days off but I’m still glad it’s Friday already!

Friends leaving drinks tonight, so tried to make it a good Friday outfit

Bunny dress! Firstly love the print and the colour – nice dusky blue on a light coffee colour. The cut is perfect for me too! Teamed with denim jacket and flip flops

Tousled hair again to keep it casual. Bit of eyeliner, and then red red lipstick! I love red lipstick! Especially this matte red from Revlon.

Happy Friday!

Looky looky here…

October Vogue came through my door today! Cannot wait to read it.

However, one must never rush this process. It must be done as if commencing a religious ceremony. The setting must be right, one cannot be hungry or thirsty. One cannot need to be anywhere within the next 3hours. One must not be sleepy.

One cannot wait!

Expect to see lots of blogs coming along inspired by October vogue!

A sunny Thursday in Brighton

Maxi dress and denim shirt, both from H&M (you’ll start realising I love this shop!). The maxi is one of those items you buy on a whim but become a staple of your wardrobe!

Pink lips, bit of 60’s eyeliner, hair loosely curled and tied up – was far too tired to do anything else!

Happy Thursday guys
